The first method and the most common one is to start a group chat from your TikTok inbox directly.
To do so, follow these steps:
- Open your Tiktok app
- Navigate to your inbox
- Open any conversations you’re having
- Tap on the three vertical dots at the top-right
- Tap on “+ create a group chat”
It’ll then ask you to pick friends to add to the discussion. Tap “Create” and…
That’s it! Your group chat was just created on TikTok and you can now start messaging multiple friends at once from one thread.

The other technique used to start a group chat on TikTok is to simply share a video you liked.
Follow these steps to launch a group chat on TikTok using the share button:
- Open TikTok
- Scroll until you find a good video to share
- Tap on the share icon on the right-hand side of the screen
- Select several friends you want to share it with.
That’s it! Your group chat was created on TikTok. You just shared the video and you can now chat all together in this group chat easily.
You can pick as many friends as you want (the limit is not given by TikTok).

Why can’t I make a TikTok group chat?
There are several reasons why you can’t create a group chat on TikTok.
So TikTok launched the group chat feature back in 2021 and it was available for all users easily.
Nowadays, the Tiktok group chat feature is not available anymore for all users.
